What Joy Fills My Heart!, Samuel Yu

Why did I give two years of my life to come to the Full-Time Training? While many of my friends and classmates from college were giving themselves to pursue a career, higher education, marriage, and the like, I made the decision to come to be trained. In the eyes of almost everyone else, I was just wasting my time. But it all came down to one simple speaking from the Lord: “You follow Me.” This was the Lord's word to Peter in John 21, and it was also what He spoke to me after my college career.

Now that I am about to graduate from the FTT, I can testify that I have no regrets about giving these two years of my life to come and be trained. I can testify that the Lord's blessing is really upon this place. It was here in the FTT that I really learned what it means to enjoy the Lord.

The Training provided an environment in which I was able to develop a normal Christian life. From having a personal morning time with the Lord, to spending time getting into the Word, to fellowshipping with other believers, I fell more in love with the Lord Jesus every day I was here. From this love there issued forth a real supply of joy and rest. During this semester many things happened to me circumstantially that, in the past, would have really left me at a loss as to how to go on. But throughout all the trials and unexpected dealings, the Lord Jesus has been my real joy. Philippians 4:4 has, at least to a certain degree, become my experience. The apostle Paul learned the secret, regardless of his circumstance, to always rejoice in the Lord. Hallelujah! We can rejoice in the Lord always! Thank you, Lord, for bringing me to such a wonderful place!
